The cabin is in a restricted area so the wildlife is protected from hunting.
There are deer, turkey and black bear in this community .

This my new hunting blog and hope I can share some of my hunting experience's and some of the fun we have in the woods.
Anyway this past year I have become interested in building my own long bow from lumber I bought from one of the hardware's near my home. This was quite a fun experience and a project that had a lot of detail in the bow. What I mean is you need to pay a lot of attention to things like grain in the wood when you pick it out or the tapper from the middle of the bow to the end. Now it was a time
consuming project but at the end I had a nice longbow that will last me many years.
So I started out by going to youtube and reviewing several tutorial's on building a bow and found many great and different ways to do this job! I was surprised to find out how many different types of bow's and styles you can make . So if you are interested in such a project
I suggest that you go to youtube and look at GOGERANIMO and watch his tutorial on his red oak long bow.
I also used youtube to learned how to make traditntal arrows, bow string and a quiver from pvc pipe. Now Instead of buying my equipment I love the idea of making my owne bow and arrows for the fun pluse if you were to harvest a a game animal you will have the satisfaction of knowing you made this with your owne hands!!
I had deer hunted last year but had no shots during bow season , but had did harvest two deer and a coyote with a gun. This year I have several good stands with a couple good buck coming in to my feeders. I also have several bear coming to our feeders in the mountains and hope to get a shot at one of them with my bow!
Anyway we hope to have a good season this fall 2016 and we'll let you know how it goes!
